Hasland CFC U18s - Spire Spire Spire Rangers
Under 15s
It's Saturday morning, mid November and that can only mean one thing, footie!! The under 15s are on fire 🔥 at the moment and we're keen to keep the league momentum going. Standing in our way this morning was Spire Rangers who we had played on the first game of the season.
Playing with confidence from recent good results on Saurdays and now at Futsal on a Friday evening we asked the boys to play with freedom and express themselves. Move the ball quickly when in possession and keep disciplined when defending.
The opening minutes of the game were fairly uneventful however Hasland had the majority of the early possession. A couple of chances went begging for us before a corner in the 16th minute was swung in low by Alfie for James to tap home his 8th of the season to put Hasland ahead. 0-1⚽️
Just three minutes later saw the goal of the game when Cole floated in a beauty of a cross which was met by the head of Aiden or little iniesta as we know him who headed expertly into the top corner (his celeration needs some work though🤣) 0-2⚽️
A bizarre goal followed on the 26th minute to put Hasland three up from a corner taken by Joe swung straight in aided by the wind a little. They all count as cliche goes 0-3⚽️
Three became four just four minutes later following some brilliant short passing on the edge of the Spire box which carved open the defence and allowed James to add to his tally from 8 or 9 yards out. 0-4⚽️
Hasland wasn't finished for the first half though as just on the half time whistle Cole chased down what seemed to be a lost cause going out for a goal kick to loop a ball back into the box for Max B to head home from a couple of yards out 0-5⚽️
Half Time 0-5
Now the first half was a quality performance from Hasland however the second was not as the game became very scrappy and our football had gone out of the window. Hasland still continued to create chances but they were flying high, wide and not at all handsome.
Spire actually pulled one back on the 52nd minute before Hasland made it six after 62 minutes following a free kick out wide on the right was swung in by Jenson and volleyed home by Cole. 1-6⚽️. Spire added a second just minutes after the restart and despite Hasland creating more chances no more goals were added in the closing stages.
Final Score 2-6
Today's man of the match went to Joe for an outstanding display at CDM. He was breaking up attacks whilst also controlling the game from the middle of the park. His range of passing and switching play was some thing to be proud of. We have been working hard on this part of Joe's game and today it all paid off. Well done mate.
So that's eight wins from our first eight league games which I'm pretty sure is a team record and one we hope to continue next week when we invite Tibshelf to the Hasland School Fields. We'll done under 15s, your hard work in training and at fitness Training is certainly paying off👏👏👏
