Hasland CFC U18s - Tibshelf FC
Under 15s - League Trophy Quarter Final🏆
After last week's heroics winning on penalties our u15s were straight back into cup action this weekend with an away day quarter final at Tibshelf FC. I think its fair to say Hasland were favourites going into this game based on league results but anything can happen in cup football.
The game plan was simple, press hard and high when out of possession and be patient and progressive when we have the ball. We started really well seeing plenty of possession and causing Tibshelf problems at the back. A coupe of really good chances came and went until the 17th minute when Aidan slid a ball between centre back and full back for the on rushing striker Jack who buried it nicely into the bottom corner for his 16th goal in all competitions this season. 0-1⚽️
The rest of the first half followed a similar pattern however, even after hitting the woodwork, Hasland could not add to their lead. Half Time 0-1
The half time team talk was a stern one as we needed the lads to pass the ball a little quicker to open the space and allow attacking players to run at the defence. Â
The second half kicked off and within 2 minutes they produced the best bit of football all game with a move down the left which involved numerous players and numerous short sharp passes. This eventually led to Jack squaring the ball to Cole who couldn't miss in a central position only a few yards from goal 0-2. This was Coles 13th goal of the season. Â
Once again we hit the post late on following another good strike this time from man of the match Max T who had a fabulous game and showed so much energy having recovered from Covid only a week ago. He was up down the wing and even covered in central midfield for a time. Great work Max!
And so the game finished Tibshelf 0 - 2 Hasland CommunityÂ
It was by no means a vintage game as eventually the conditions were very difficult with a very strong side wind and a very bobbly pitch. Nevertheless the Hasland boys go marching on and will feature in a Trophy semi final for the first time ever. They deserve every bit of success they are getting right now due the efforts they put in at Fitness Training on a Monday and normal training on a Tuesday.Â
Well done fellas and hopefully we will be back in league action next week against CJB Thunder.
